Introduction
COLFOS is a ready-to-apply insecticide formulated with the active ingredients Ethion and Cypermethrin. It acts through both contact and stomach action, providing effective control of bollworms in cotton crops.
Mode of Action
- Ethion:
Ethion is a non-systemic insecticide that primarily works through contact action. It controls insects by blocking the activity of the Acetylcholinesterase enzyme, which interferes with the normal transmission of nerve signals in pests. - Cypermethrin: Cypermethrin affects the insect nervous system by altering sodium channel function. This results in continuous nerve stimulation, leading to paralysis and control of the target insects.
Method of Application
For effective spraying, mix the recommended dose in 150–200 liters of water per acre and apply uniformly on the crop.
